I bought 6 of these and they all worked awesome. One of them had the the sound and no picture thing happen. I tried a few things and was able to fix it. Here's what you do.
Have the tv off.
When you turn it on and see the Memorex logo on the screen, press the input button on the remote quickly, then quickly press the arrow down button, then quickly press the ok button,then quickly press the arrow up button, the the ok button. This fixed it. I tried this on my friends tv who recommended this tv and it worked too. Both tv's have worked great ever since and it's been awhile since this happened. I'm surprised none discovered this. My thought was that the tv was stuck on video 1 and just had to get it out and I was right. It works.

I purchased this product over a year ago and the DVD player has never worked. When I first noticed this I called the store, they said call the manufacturer who said call the store and on and on it went. I simply hooked up a DVD player up to the TV-problem solved. Still...

The sound w/ no picture began happening a few weeks ago-"What a joy!". I have been able to figure out how to circumvent this problem...for now...

I too would not recommend that anyone buy this product. However, to those of you who already have-hang on to it for as long as possible and manipulate it however you can to get it to work. When it does work, it is pretty damn good! (especially for the short dollar amount).
