User Reviews about ATI DVI (M) to Component (RGB) HDTV Adapter for Video Cards - 6140016400G
I have an HTPC that uses a ATI Radeon 9700Pro. I have been using the adaptor that was provided by ATI for over six years and it finally went bad. This new adaptor was a perfect replacement and was plug and play. I couldn't ask for anything better. It is great to have video on the HTPC again!!! Thanks Cablemart. -- Worked Perfectly
I used this adapter with a Radeon x700 Pro (older model now) without any issues.
Though I did try it with an NVIDIA 9600 as an experiment and could not get it work so double check that your card is supported. -- Works well
This adapter will only work with specific ATI video cards and the only if you have the specific ATI Catalyst drivers. See the details on ATI's site here: [...] They also have a manual for this adapter on the website.
The reason it doesn't work with just any DVI-I output is because TVs use a sync-on-luminance signal ([...]), which only certain video cards support. I have an ATI Radeon 4350 so I assumed it would work, but unfortunately this card does not support the sync on luminance so the adapter couldn't do it. -- Only works for certain ATI cards
